Seán Donnan is an independent artist and illustrator specializing in a hybrid traditional-digital art style mixing design concepts and techniques from Japanese woodblock prints, irezumi tattoos, and nihonga painting. Most of his work involves line art that is inked by hand with Japanese brushes, ink, and printmaking paper in the technique of old ukiyo-e artists, with digital color. He aims to make the old new again and bring appreciation for tradition into contemporary popular culture.
